Johane Laurent also known as Jo Doe, is a self-taught artist from South Florida whose journey reflects a dynamic evolution in both confidence and skill. Her artistic path began in 2009 as a way to cope with the heartbreak of her first love. It was during this time that her signature swirl pattern emerged—a visual representation of love’s complexities, filled with twists, turns, and the endless ups and downs of an emotional maze. Since her humble beginnings, Jo has grown into a multidisciplinary artist who works across various mediums. What started as a personal outlet for sadness has transformed into a powerful means of connection, allowing her to share her story and resonate with others through her work.

Melissa is a multidisciplinary artist who works across a variety of mediums, including short-form video, photography, collage, ceramics, printmaking, and acrylic and watercolor painting. Melissa describes her work as “Pop Art with Soul,” drawing inspiration from the films, music, and television that shaped her upbringing. “When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was almost always, ‘I want to be an artist.’ Occasionally, I’d say ‘an astronaut’ or ‘a gymnast,’ but art was always my true passion. I even went to Career Day dressed as ‘an artist’ one year. Creativity has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, thanks to my mom—an artist herself—who constantly encouraged me to explore and create.”
